Timeline

10 days (Feb 2023)

Mindful Practices like Journaling proven to increase self-awareness

Mindful practices support people in achieving their goals and reflecting on past events.

Asking 77 people about their mindful habits

We conducted a survey with 77 responses from potential users and gained following insights on their mindful habit behavior:

Interviewees struggle to establish consistent practice

We conducted 5 interviews with individuals in the age 26 to 30.

Competitors lack of guided programs and method variety

We analyzed the product features of six different companies and discovered following takeaways:

  • Need for guided programs.

  • No knowledge or access to a variety of methods.

  • Mood tracker and daily journaling proofed concepts.

Hi, Mindful Mara!

How can we help you to create mindful habits?

After analyzing the existing pain points of the app, the competitors and conducting the interviews and survey, we defined the needs, goals and pain points of the user persona.

Defining the problem

Mindful people like Mara, need to find a way to develop a routine for self-reflection, because they struggle without guidance to find the right method and practice consistently.

To better empathize with her, we created a user journey map, describing her attempt develop herself with practicing more self-reflection.

Use of proven methods for ideating features of the MVP

The team utilized the Crazy 8's methodology to generate multiple ideas, followed by Dot Voting to select the best ones for further exploration.

Using the MoSCoW Method, the team categorized the features into must-have, should-have, could-have, and won't-have categories to determine the key features required for the MVP.

The happy path of Mindful Mara

Concept testing reveals positive reception

We tested our concept with 5 potential users.

The users really liked the idea, but some features needed iterations.

From Lo-fi to Mid-fi & conducted usability testings

We tested the Mid-fi wireframes within 5 usability testings to make sure users could easily navigate through our app and encounter no problems.

Preparing for Hi-fi Prototype: The Look & Feel

Calm and dark colors create a relaxing atmosphere and set the user in the right mood for their self reflection practice.

Visual Competitive Analysis

We compared Reflectly, Reflection.app and Fabulous.

  • All apps use white background and strong accents from their brand colors.

  • Reflectly and Reflection.app are minimalistic and use purple as primary color; Fabulous is more playful and colorful with drawings.

For metime, we focus on creating a calm and meditative environment with darker background.

Accessibility testing: All colors provide enough contrast

Metime

The solution for more self-reflection in life

Metime solves exactly the problem of so many young people with an interest in self-reflection with feeling lost without guidance and support.
